Inner Star Performing Arts of Nevada, Inc.

The Outreach Program is designed to specifically reach out to at-risk youth in our community. Through a process that involves Washoe County School District (WCSD), ISPAN will locate students who are interested in the arts, specifically dance, and who also experience financial need (qualified for free or reduced lunch). These students will learn a performance piece that has a message/moral to it, something the performers can then share with other children in the community as they perform it for other at-risk schools. The main message to the Outreach Program: you can do anything you set your mind to. The Outreach Program teaches the children they can do anything, boosts self-esteem, offer hope for the future (career-wise as well) and enriches their lives.

Core components of ISPAN Outreach for at-risk youth:

-outreach for economically and culturally disadvantaged children and teens;

- support for families;

- preventative and rehabilitative;

- school-affiliate: both public and private

- dance and other performing arts training to support healthy self-esteem, opportunities for future   careers, etc.; Matching scholarships to attend dance classes at Ballet Nevada LLC are offered to those chosen by the Board of Directors (via Scholarship Contract); Scholarships students will receive assistance and then match the amount of that funding

Our mission will be pursued in affiliation with other national and local organizations such as: public and private school systems; juvenile courts; community outreach programs;  regional performing arts companies/ academies;  other groups who share our passion for the arts and our commitment to the community.
